Medical Insurance for the Russian e-Visa

Travelers entering Russia with a unified electronic visa are generally required to hold medical insurance valid in the Russian Federation for the entire period of their stay, except where a specific exemption applies.
The policy should therefore cover the dates of your trip and remain valid while you are in Russia.
We can arrange the insurance separately if you are applying for your e-visa independently.

Medical Insurance for Traditional Russian Visas

Medical insurance requirements for traditional Russian visas depend on the traveler’s nationality, type of visa and the requirements of the Russian consular authority handling the application.
For travelers who require insurance as part of their visa application, we can issue a policy with the information and coverage required for the insured period.
Our standard policies normally include coverage of €30,000 and territorial validity in the Russian Federation.
Before submitting a visa application, travelers should always check the current requirements applicable to their nationality and visa category.

A Real Insurance Policy – Not Just a Visa Document

Travel medical insurance should protect you during your journey, not simply generate a PDF for an administrative procedure.

The policies we arrange are genuine insurance contracts containing the essential information connected with the insured traveler and the coverage provided.

Depending on the policy, documentation normally identifies:
  • the insured traveler;
  • policy number;
  • insurance period;
  • territory of coverage;
  • coverage limit;
  • insurer;
  • applicable insurance conditions;
  • assistance procedures in case of an insured event.

The exact benefits, limits, exclusions and claim procedures are always governed by the policy that is actually issued.

Insurance Provider

For many of the travel medical insurance policies we arrange, we normally work with AlfaStrakhovanie (АльфаСтрахование), a major Russian insurance company.

The insurer, coverage period, insured amount and applicable conditions are stated in the policy documentation provided to the traveler.

Where another suitable insurance solution is required, the available option will be confirmed before issuance.

Russia Travel Insurance Prices

Our standard prices currently start from:
  • Short Trips – 1 to 30 Days

    €2 per day
    Standard coverage: €30,000.
  • Medium-Term Policies – 3 or 6 Month

    3 months: €85
    6 months: €95
    Suitable for longer stays and multiple-entry travel requirements, according to the applicable policy conditions.
  • 12 Months – 90/180

    €125
    Coverage for up to 90 days during each 180-day period, according to the policy conditions.
  • 12 Months – Full-Year Coverage

    From €165
    A 365-day coverage option may be available when continuous annual coverage is required.

Prices for travelers over 65 and certain individual profiles are calculated on request.

Higher coverage limits, including €50,000 or €100,000, may also be available.

What Does 90/180 Mean?

A 90/180 insurance policy does not provide 180 consecutive days of medical coverage.

It means that the insurance contract may remain valid for a longer period, while insured coverage applies for a maximum of 90 days within each applicable 180-day period, according to the terms of the policy.

This type of arrangement can be useful for travelers holding longer or multiple-entry visas who enter and leave Russia during the validity period.
